Gireve CPO Connection
Roaming allows charge point operators (CPO) to open access to their infrastructure to all e-mobility service providers (EMSP).
Thanks to Gireve's roaming platform, CPOs can make their charge points usable by a wide range of EMSPs, which improves the user experience for electric vehicle drivers while increasing charge point utilization.
Chargekeeper, a supervision platform certified by Gireve, makes it easy to manage this connection for CPOs. Below is an overview of the key steps in the onboarding process to the Gireve platform.
Onboarding steps for CPOs with Gireve

1. Kick-off Meeting with Gireve
The process begins with a kick-off meeting between the Gireve teams, the charge point operator, and Gireve.
During this meeting, strategic aspects and expectations are clarified, but the Chargekeeper team is not present at this stage.
2. Technical connection
The Chargekeeper and Gireve technical teams work together to establish the technical connection between the two platforms.
Chargekeeper is responsible for the technical integration, thereby ensuring that data flows smoothly between the charge point management systems and the Gireve platform.
3. Import of static data
Once the connection is established, the data import begins. You can open sites and charge points to roaming directly from Chargekeeper by ticking the Roaming option.
You must also create a CPO Tariff on Chargekeeper, to authorize charging via roaming and define your roaming pricing policy. Important: you will need to define a Tariff ID, which will be used to publish your offers on Gireve's Connect Place.
Once the sites, charge points, and tariffs are ready, inform Gireve so that they can import your data.
4. Charging test
A crucial step is to schedule a real charging test. Once the data (sites, charge points, tariffs) has been correctly imported into Gireve, you will need to choose a charge point for the test and inform Gireve of it. You will also need a vehicle to carry out this test, as well as an RFID badge number that will simulate an EMSP badge during the test phase.
The Gireve teams will test the start, stop, and billing of the charging session using two methods:
- Via the RFID badge.
- Via a remote procedure, which simulates a remote charge start from an EMSP application.
If everything goes well, your connection as a CPO is validated, and you can move on to the next step.
5. Publishing your offers
After your connection is validated, you will be able to publish your offers on Gireve's Connect Place. This allows you to open access to your charge points to all EMSPs connected to the Gireve platform, thereby maximizing the utilization of your charging infrastructure.
Typical configuration for Gireve
Below is an example of the information to provide to Gireve to establish a CPO connection with Chargekeeper:
- The list of IP addresses you will use to call us: Use of the Chargekeeper IOP Partner Certificate
- The Versions endpoint URL: https://ocpi.service-evse.com/ocpi/cpo/versions
- The Token to use for registration: [your token available in Chargekeeper]
- The Tariffs exchange mode (pull by Gireve or push by you): pull by Gireve
- A daily retrieval of CDRs by Gireve (yes/no): yes
Conclusion
Thanks to the integration with Gireve, CPOs can offer a complete and seamless roaming solution to end users, while simplifying the management and supervision of their charge points thanks to Chargekeeper, a certified platform.
Roaming opens up new business opportunities and improves the user experience for electric vehicle drivers.
