Alfen error codes
This page covers Alfen charging stations of the NG platform (NG9xx controller): Eve Single Pro-line, Eve Double Pro-line, Eve Single S-line, Eve Double PG-line and Twin4XL, then the codes specific to the AHP platform (Eve Single Plus, Eve Double Plus, Twin5). It details the three-digit codes sent to the supervision, then the lights.
Where to read the code: in Chargekeeper, charging station list, connector details, column
Information (or the in-progress sessions list, column Information). It shows
"OCPP code - vendor code - information". See Manufacturer error codes.
How Alfen reports its errors
Each Alfen error has a three-digit code, shown on the station display (when it has one and the code is not marked "not displayed") On charging stations supervised by Chargekeeper, this code arrives in the vendor code and the information field carries a readable text. Example: ConnectorLockFailure - 404 - Unable to lock charging cable, try again. When the error clears, the station sends the same code again with NoError and the text "Error 404 resolved": this message reports the end of the fault, not a new fault.
The first digit gives the likely origin:
- 0xx: generic error;
- 1xx: inside the station;
- 2xx: installation;
- 3xx: vehicle;
- 4xx: external cause (user, cable, plug, weather).
The information field often completes the code (for example the measured voltage for 202). Code 304 (cable plugged in without a session started) is sent with NoError: it is not a fault. For 405 and 406, Alfen gives "Communication Error", which is not a standard OCPP 1.6 code: the column is left empty.
