This page covers the Siemens SICHARGE D fast chargers (including SICHARGE D ERK and SICHARGE D Dispenser) and the VersiCharge AC Wallbox IEC. It lists the error states sent to the supervision, the messages shown on screen and the LED fault numbers.

Where to read the code: in Chargekeeper, charging station list, connector details, Information column (or the active sessions list, Information column). It shows "OCPP code - vendor code - information". See Manufacturer error codes.

How Siemens reports errors

SICHARGE D: the charger sends named error states to the supervision, for example EmergencyStopButton_SF2, in the OCPP StatusNotification message. The manual does not say which field is used (vendor code, information or OCPP code), nor which OCPP error code goes with each state. Siemens presents this list as a troubleshooting aid, continuously revised and not exhaustive; the full catalogue can only be viewed in the SICHARGE Configuration Backend (SCB), the web tool operated by Siemens. The touchscreen shows text messages, without a code.

VersiCharge AC Wallbox: faults are numbers from 1 to 22, shown by a combination of front-panel LEDs. The documentation does not say whether they are sent over OCPP. The fault type can be confirmed by downloading a report from the VersiCloud maintenance page.

The exact format received by the supervision has not yet been checked on a Siemens station supervised by Chargekeeper.

SICHARGE D — states sent to the supervision

Code Meaning What to do OCPP code
12VDC_Supply_TB18_FC23 Fault on the 12 V DC auxiliary supply (terminal block TB18 or its fuse FC23) Contact Siemens service or the maintenance contractor: Siemens has the detailed diagnosis in the SCB; checking fuses inside the cabinet is for qualified electricians only —

Mainbreaker_QA1 The station's main circuit breaker QA1 has tripped Do not reset it without finding the cause; call a qualified electrician or Siemens service —
Income_Phaseloss Loss of one phase on the incoming AC supply Have the site electrician check that the upstream supply and protections are healthy; contact Siemens service or the maintenance contractor —
DoorPositionSwitch_BG3_BG4 One or both cabinet doors are open (door switches BG3/BG4); the manual's table adds "ShutSup:1" Close and lock the cabinet doors; if the state stays active with the doors closed, call Siemens service —
EmergencyStopButton_SF2 The emergency stop button SF2 has been pressed Remove the hazard, check that no vehicle is connected, then release the emergency stop button; the station becomes available again by itself after a self-test (LEDs white then green) —
SafetyRelay_QA26 The safety relay QA26 has dropped out; the manual gives the same description as for the emergency stop (emergency stop pressed) Find what opened the safety loop (emergency stop button, door, external loop) and fix it; contact Siemens service or the maintenance contractor —
EVSE_TempUpperLimit The charger's internal temperature has exceeded its upper limit Check that the ventilation openings are clear and the fans are running; contact Siemens service or the maintenance contractor —
PerformingCollaboratedReboot The station is performing a coordinated restart No action: wait for the restart to finish —
PerformingCollaboratedShutdown The station is performing a coordinated shutdown No action if the shutdown is intended; otherwise, check who requested it —
FailsafeMode_Active Failsafe mode active: the charging unit is out of service Contact Siemens service or the maintenance contractor —
Sicharge_PLC_CPU_KF1 Flag of the main PLC (KF1) related to a critical program error (ambiguous manual wording: "critical program error not detected") Contact Siemens service or the maintenance contractor —
d-plc: doorOpen_BG201 A door of the SICHARGE D Dispenser is open (door switch BG201) Close the Dispenser door, which clears the emergency stop it triggered; if the state stays active with the door closed, call Siemens service —
allOutletsUnavailable No charging point is in service Look at the other active states to find the cause; contact Siemens service or the maintenance contractor —

SICHARGE D — Siemens backend (SCB) flags

These flags appear in the SCB; the manual does not say whether they are also sent over OCPP.

Code Meaning What to do
fwupdateSECC_DC[1-4] Firmware update of the Dispenser charge controller (SECC) in progress for DC charging point 1 to 4; the text shows the version and progress in % Wait for the update to finish; with firmware older than V5.0.21, an extra manual restart is needed for all LEDs to turn green
d-plc: fwupdatePLC Firmware update of the Dispenser PLC in progress Wait for the update to finish (LEDs white or off during the update, green afterwards)

LEDs and display

SICHARGE D — messages on the screen

Signal Meaning What to do
"Emergency Stop was triggered" Full-screen message: the emergency stop is active, all charging points are de-energised and running sessions stop Remove the hazard, check that no vehicle is connected, release the emergency stop button or close the door; the station becomes available again by itself after a self-test
"Charging station out of service" Full-screen "out of service" message: a critical fault affects the whole station, which can no longer be used Siemens service must intervene; the operator is informed by an OCPP message and Siemens can analyse the cause remotely in the SCB
"Out of operation" (charging point) In the charging point selection menu, one point is highlighted in red with the status "out of operation": only that point is blocked, the others keep charging Use another charging point; contact Siemens service or the maintenance contractor
"Connection failed" The driver's AC charging cable did not lock correctly at the first plug-in; the user is asked to plug it in again Unplug and re-insert the charging cable

SICHARGE D — LED strips

Only red signals an error: white = starting up or not ready, green = ready, blue = cable connected to the vehicle, pulsing blue = charging.

Signal Meaning What to do
Red Critical fault, emergency stop triggered or maintenance mode active Read the touchscreen message and the status in the supervision or the SCB to tell the three cases apart

VersiCharge AC Wallbox — fault numbers (LEDs)

The fault number is read from the "Fault" LED (steady or flashing) combined with the 2h, 4h, 6h and 8h delayed-start LEDs. "May require a qualified electrician" repeats a note in the Siemens table.

No. LEDs Meaning Recovery What to do
1 Fault flashing Fault of the leakage current detection device (CCID) detected as soon as the contactor closes After user intervention Switch the power off and on again: this can clear a nuisance trip
2 Fault flashing + 2h Fault of the leakage current detection device (CCID) detected during charging Automatic Recovers automatically; if the problem persists, it becomes fault 1
3 Fault steady + 4h Self-test of the leakage current detection device (CCID) failed Not recoverable (unit returned) Switch the power off and on again, 3 times at most; if the fault persists, call support: the unit must be returned
4 Fault steady + 2h + 4h Internal hardware fault Not recoverable (unit returned) Switch the power off and on again, 3 times at most; if the fault persists, call support: the unit must be returned
5 Fault flashing + 6h Protective earth (PE) disconnected After user intervention Power down and have the earth connection checked; may require a qualified electrician
6 Fault flashing + 2h + 6h Charging cable over-temperature Automatic Check that the vehicle current does not exceed the cable capacity
7 Fault flashing + 4h + 6h Fault on the interface with the vehicle (control pilot, communication with the vehicle) Automatic Unplug the cable and plug it back into the vehicle; switch the power off and on again if the fault persists
8 Fault flashing + 2h + 4h + 6h Current setting switch in an invalid position After user intervention Set the current switch to a valid position (IEC: maximum position no. 4 = 32 A); may require a qualified electrician
9 Fault flashing + 8h Unit over-temperature Automatic Compare the current drawn with the derating value; power down, wait 15 minutes, power up; may require a qualified electrician
10 Fault flashing + 4h + 8h Supply voltage too high Automatic Power down and have the incoming voltage checked before powering up again; may require a qualified electrician
