Vehicle-based prioritization dynamically allocates the power available in a charging zone based on the priority level associated with a badge.

Activating prioritization

The strategy is activated at the zone level by selecting “Vehicle-based prioritization” as the smart charging mode.

General principle

Prioritization is managed at the badge level

A badge can be associated with:

  • a vehicle
  • a user

The priority level is defined in the badge’s Characteristics tab:

  • High priority
  • Medium priority
  • Low priority

The algorithm then distributes the available power according to the connected badges.

Algorithm: example cases

Take the example of a zone configured with a power of 45 kVA and 3 charging points of 22 kW:

Case Description Distribution
1 Two high-priority badges
  • Charging point 1: high-priority badge → 22 kW
  • Charging point 2: high-priority badge → 22 kW
  • Charging point 3: medium-priority badge → 1 kW (remaining power)
2 Three high-priority badges
  • Charging point 1: high
  • Charging point 2: high
  • Charging point 3: high

→ Power distributed evenly: 15 kW per charging point (45 / 3)

3 Mixed priority
  • Charging point 1: high priority → 22 kW
  • Charging point 2: medium priority → 22 kW
  • Charging point 3: low priority → 1 kW

If a new high-priority session starts as a replacement on charging point 3:

  • Charging point 1: high priority → 22 kW
  • Charging point 2: medium priority → 1 kW
  • Charging point 3: high priority → 22 kW
