Gireve EMSP Connection
Roaming enables e-mobility service providers (EMSP) to let their customers charge at any public charge point connected to the Gireve platform, all with a single RFID card or a mobile app. This system greatly simplifies the user experience and broadens access to charging infrastructure.
Chargekeeper, a supervision platform certified by Gireve, facilitates this connection and ensures seamless integration of EMSPs with Gireve. Here are the key onboarding steps for an EMSP.
Onboarding steps for EMSPs with Gireve

1. Kick-off Meeting with Gireve
The process begins with a Kick-off meeting between the Gireve and EMSP teams. This meeting is used to clarify objectives and establish the next technical steps.
The Chargekeeper team is not involved in this meeting.
2. Technical connection
The Chargekeeper and Gireve technical teams work together to establish the technical connection between the two platforms.
Chargekeeper ensures that data relating to RFID badges and users is correctly transmitted to the Gireve platform.
3. "Whitelist" integration
Once the connection is established, you need to integrate the RFID badges that will be used by your customers. These badges must be imported into Chargekeeper, and once this step is completed, you must inform the Gireve teams via the Mantis ticketing platform. Gireve will then import the badges into their roaming platform.
In parallel, you must define an EMSP tariff on Chargekeeper to authorize charging via these badges. Important: Chargekeeper checks several criteria before authorizing an EMSP charge:
- Is the badge associated with a user?
- Does a tariff allow the badge to be used?
- Does the user have a valid payment method?
- Is the user not blocked or in a payment-default situation?
If any of these conditions is not met, the charging session will be refused.
4. Roaming test
The Gireve teams will run tests to verify that your badges do indeed allow a charging session to be started at charge points connected to the Gireve platform. For this step, you may be asked to provide a specific RFID badge number for the testing phases.
5. Signing offers
On Gireve's Connect Place platform, you will now be able to sign CPO (charge point operator) offers. This will allow your EMSP users to charge at the public charge points of the CPOs connected to Gireve, thereby giving them extended access to charging.
Typical configuration for Gireve
Below is an example of the information to provide to Gireve in order to establish an EMSP connection with Chargekeeper:
- The list of IP addresses you will use to call us: Use of the Chargekeeper IOP Partner Certificate
- The Versions endpoint URL: https://ocpi.service-evse.com/ocpi/emsp/versions
- The Token to use for registration: [your token available in Chargekeeper]
- The Token exchange mode (pull by Gireve or push): push + pull
- The CDR exchange mode (push by Gireve or pull): push by Gireve
Conclusion
Thanks to Gireve, EMSPs can easily offer their customers access to a vast network of public charge points, simplifying the charging experience. Chargekeeper, as a certified supervision platform, facilitates this integration, ensuring efficient management of badges and charging sessions while complying with stringent security criteria.
