Elinta Charge error codes
This page covers Elinta Charge HomeBox Slim, HomeBox Slim on Board and CityCharge V2 chargers. Elinta publishes no list of numeric error codes: the page gives the states shown on the screen and in Elios Cloud, then how to read the lights.
Where to read the code: in Chargekeeper, charging station list, connector details,
Information column (or the list of sessions in progress, Information column). It shows
"OCPP code - manufacturer code - information". See Manufacturer error codes.
How Elinta Charge reports its errors
- Elinta chargers send no manufacturer code (
vendorErrorCode). Some describe the error as text, in the information field. Example received: OCPP codeEVCommunicationError, information "Voltage related error". - The light and the screen show that there is an error, not its cause. The manuals refer to the charging log and the charger's page in Elios Cloud, Elinta's back office, where an error code is displayed. The current manuals do not list these codes.
- No mapping to OCPP codes is published.
- Light colours can be customised in Elios Cloud: the tables below describe the factory colours.
CityCharge V2 — socket status shown on the screen
Text statuses shown on the touchscreen (option) when choosing side A or B. The screen does not show the cause of the error.
| Code | Meaning | What to do | OCPP code |
|---|---|---|---|
| Red dot on screen (when stopping the session) | Wrong RFID tag presented to stop the session; the cable stays locked | Badge with the RFID tag that started the session | — |
Error |
That socket is in error and cannot be used; its button is greyed out on the screen. Received from chargers supervised by Chargekeeper with the information "Voltage related error" | Look up the error in Elios Cloud (station information page) or in the Information column in Chargekeeper | EVCommunicationError |
Unavailable |
That socket is unavailable and cannot be used; its button is greyed out on the screen | Check in Chargekeeper or Elios Cloud whether the connector was set unavailable or is in error | — |
Elios Cloud — charger error states
States shown on the charger information page in Elios Cloud. Only an earlier revision of the CityCharge V2 manual (Rev 1.0) lists them, without definitions: the meaning follows from the name. The manual does not say whether they are sent to a third-party OCPP backend, nor whether they also apply to the HomeBox Slim.
| Code | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
Voltage Error |
The charger reports a supply voltage fault | Contact the authorised service centre or Elinta Charge support with the serial number; have a qualified electrician check the supply voltage |
RCM Error |
The charger reports a fault on its residual current monitoring (leakage detection) | Contact the authorised service centre or Elinta Charge support with the serial number; if it occurs with one vehicle only, try another vehicle |
Car Error |
The charger reports a problem on the vehicle side | Unplug and replug the vehicle, try another vehicle; contact Elinta Charge support if it persists |
Over Current Error |
The charger detected a current above the allowed limit | Contact the authorised service centre or Elinta Charge support with the serial number |
Meter Error |
The charger reports a fault on its energy meter | Contact the authorised service centre or Elinta Charge support with the serial number |
Unavailable |
Charger shown as unavailable in Elios Cloud, listed among the error states | Contact the authorised service centre or Elinta Charge support with the serial number |
Lights and display
HomeBox Slim and HomeBox Slim on Board — front light
| Signal | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Green (steady) | Charger idle and ready for a new session | — |
| Blue (steady) | Charging session in progress | — |
| Green (blinking) | Waiting for the user to authorise (after an RFID swipe, before the cable is plugged in), or session finished / vehicle fully charged | — |
| Red (blinking) | The charger is in an error state; the vehicle cannot charge | Read the charging log or station status in Elios Cloud (or the Information column in Chargekeeper) to identify the actual error; restart the charger; if it persists, contact Elinta Charge support with the serial number from the CE type plate |
| Red (steady, after RFID swipe) | The RFID tag presented to stop the session is not the one that started it; the cable stays locked | Badge with the RFID tag that started the session; if the cable was pulled, push it fully back into the socket, then badge again |
| Red (brief, at power-on) | Normal step of the start-up sequence (off about 10 s, green 1-2 s, short red, then steady green); not a fault | Wait for the sequence to end on steady green (the HomeBox Slim manual allows 5-10 minutes for boot) |
| Off | The charger has no power | Have a qualified person check and reset the protective devices in the distribution board (and the RCBO inside single-phase units); check the upstream power supply |
CityCharge V2 — side lights (one per socket A / B) and RFID circle
| Signal | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Side light green (steady) | Socket ready for use | — |
| Side light blue (steady) | Charging session in progress on that socket | — |
| Side light green (blinking) | Socket waiting for authorisation | — |
| Side light blue (blinking) | Charging finished on that socket | — |
| Side light red (blinking) | Internal error on that socket; it cannot charge | Check the station status or console log in Elios Cloud (or the Information column in Chargekeeper); restart the charger; if it persists, contact Elinta Charge support with the serial number |
| Side light off | No power to that socket while the screen is still on | Have a qualified person check and reset the side A/B circuit breaker and RCCB behind the service door; if it trips again when a vehicle starts charging, suspect the vehicle or its cable and try another vehicle |
| RFID circle blinking | The charger lost its connection to Elios Cloud or to the OCPP backend | Check the charger's signal strength and network link; check the charger's connection in Chargekeeper |
| RFID circle rotating blue/red | Firmware download and installation in progress (the screen goes black); not a fault | Wait for the update to finish; do not cut power |
