Delta Electronics error codes

This page covers the Delta Electronics chargers whose codes Delta publishes: the DC Wallbox 25 kW (full list of alarm codes), then the AC Mini Plus and the AC MAX, which report their faults through LEDs. It also gives an unofficial list of DC codes, to be confirmed.

Where to read the code: in Chargekeeper, charging station list, connector details, Information column (or the active sessions list, Information column). It shows “OCPP code - vendor code - information”. See Manufacturer error codes.

How Delta reports its errors

  • The DC Wallbox shows a six-digit hexadecimal alarm code on its display (for example 00400A). The first three digits give the group: 004 system, 005 internal and vehicle communication, 006 network and back-office, 007 power rectifier, 008 auxiliary supplies, 009 ground fault, 00A contactors and relays, 00B module firmware update, 00C CCS, 00D CHAdeMO.
  • No Delta document says whether these codes are sent over OCPP in the vendor code (vendorErrorCode), nor which OCPP code they match. No code from these lists has been seen yet on the chargers supervised by Chargekeeper.
  • The value 0000000000 received in the vendor code means “no fault”.
  • The AC Mini Plus and the AC MAX report their faults through LEDs: see the “LEDs and screen” section.
  • UFC 200: the fault is shown on the touch screen as a symbol per connector; pressing the connector button shows its cause as text (for example “Connector fault”). No public code list was found for the UFC 200 nor for the DC City.
  • The codes differ slightly from one DC Wallbox manual version to another; where they do, the meaning says so.

Delta DC chargers, model not stated — unofficial list

Additional codes published only by a third-party operator, with no model or firmware version. They follow the same numbering as the DC Wallbox and cover the CCS communication steps (ISO 15118 / DIN) and CHAdeMO timeouts. As the source is not official, each meaning is (to be confirmed). Only codes absent from the Delta manuals are listed here.

AC Mini Plus — charger log code

Six-digit code recorded in the AC Mini Plus log (downloadable on a USB stick), described by the Delta knowledge base. Delta does not say whether it is sent over OCPP.

Code Meaning What to do OCPP code
010143 Charging gun lock/unlock failure: the plug does not lock in the socket. Inspect the inside of the socket and remove the displaced rubber seal (per Delta KB). If not resolved, contact Delta support. —

LEDs and screen

AC Mini Plus

Panel of four LEDs: Power, Status and Charge (green), Fault (red). Notation: PWR = Power LED solid green, PWR+STS = Power and Status LEDs solid green, followed by the number of red flashes of the Fault LED; network faults are green flashes of the Status LED (STS). Fault LED flashing red during charging: temporary error, which usually clears within about 10 s. Solid red: critical hardware error.

Signal Meaning What to do
Fault solid red (PWR+STS on) Hardware failure detected (RCD self-test, relay, MCU/MPU or thermal sensor fault). Unplug the connector and power-cycle the charger. If still solid red, contact Delta support.
PWR + Fault 1 flash Residual current device (RCD) tripped; clears once the plug is removed. Unplug the charging plug to recover. If it repeats, have cable and installation checked by a qualified electrician.
PWR + Fault 2 flashes Earth (ground) fault; clears once earth is correctly connected. Have a qualified electrician check the PE connection.
PWR + Fault 3 flashes Supply wiring incorrect; clears after correction and reboot. Have the installer correct the input wiring, then reboot.
PWR + Fault 4 flashes Supply over-voltage or under-voltage; clears when voltage returns to normal. Wait for voltage to normalise; if persistent, have the supply checked by a qualified electrician.
PWR + Fault 5 flashes Over-current; auto-retries after 10 s, latched after three trips. Unplug, power-cycle the charger; if it persists, contact Delta support.
PWR + Fault 6 flashes Over-temperature protection. Let the unit cool; remove heat sources. Unplug, power-cycle the charger; if it persists, contact Delta support.
PWR + Fault 7 flashes Plug/connector condition fault that clears after re-plugging the charging plug firmly (cause not named in the manual). Re-plug the charging plug firmly.
PWR+STS + Fault 1 flash Maximum current rating setting error. Have the installer check the current rating setting.
PWR+STS + Fault 2 flashes Control pilot fault (wrong pilot level: positive/negative pilot error, state D or E). Re-plug; try another vehicle. Unplug, power-cycle the charger; if it persists, contact Delta support.
PWR+STS + Fault 3 flashes RFID reader fault / main processor cannot talk to the RFID reader. Unplug, power-cycle the charger; if it persists, contact Delta support.
PWR+STS + Fault 4 flashes Main processor cannot communicate with the Wi-Fi module (Connected version only). Unplug, power-cycle the charger; if it persists, contact Delta support.
PWR+STS + Fault 5 flashes Main processor cannot communicate with the 3G modem (Connected version only). Unplug, power-cycle the charger; if it persists, contact Delta support.
PWR+STS + Fault 6 flashes Main processor cannot communicate with the Bluetooth module (Connected version only). Unplug, power-cycle the charger; if it persists, contact Delta support.
PWR + STS 1 flash Cellular APN not connected (Connected version only). Check network settings (APN, Wi-Fi, OCPP URL).
PWR + STS 2 flashes No internet connection (Connected version only). Check network settings (APN, Wi-Fi, OCPP URL).
PWR + STS 3 flashes Back-office (OCPP central system) not connected (Connected version only). Check network settings (APN, Wi-Fi, OCPP URL).
PWR + STS 4 flashes Cellular signal strength (RSSI) low (Connected version only). Check network settings (APN, Wi-Fi, OCPP URL).

AC MAX (EU-Basic, firmware 5.1)

Single multicolour LED: a fault is shown in red, solid or as a number of flashes. The Smart / NA-Smart versions are not covered.

Signal Meaning What to do
Red solid Self-test failed or general malfunction. Unplug the vehicle connector and power-cycle the EVSE. If it persists, contact Delta support.
Red, 1 flash Supply over-voltage or under-voltage protection; auto-recovers when voltage is normal. Wait for auto-recovery; otherwise restart the EVSE or contact support.
Red, 2 flashes Residual current device (RCD) tripped. Switch off at the breaker and disconnect the car. Inspect cable and components for insulation damage. If nothing visible, switch the breaker back on.
Red, 3 flashes Protective earth not correctly connected. Have the PE connection checked by a qualified electrician. Make sure firmware is 5.1 or later (AC MAX app).
Red, 4 flashes Over-current protection. Unplug the vehicle connector and plug it in again.
Red, 5 flashes Over-temperature protection. Wait for recovery and remove any nearby heat source.
Red, 6 flashes Supply input miswired. Have the installer swap L and N.
Red, 7 flashes Control pilot signal error or charging gun lock fault. Unplug the vehicle connector and plug it in again. If it does not recover, contact Delta support.
