Manufacturer error codes

When a charger reports a fault, it sends Chargekeeper (OCPP StatusNotification message) up to three pieces of information:

  • an OCPP error code, standard and shared by all brands (for example GroundFailure): it gives the category of the problem;
  • a manufacturer code, specific to each brand (for example 11.0 on Schneider Electric or 304 on Alfen): it gives the precise cause;
  • an information field, free text sent by the charger, often a readable label.

This section explains, brand by brand, what the manufacturer codes mean and what you can do.

Where to read these codes in Chargekeeper

In the charging station list, display the connectors of a charger: the Information column shows "OCPP code - manufacturer code - information". The list of sessions in progress shows the same Information column.

Reading a code

  • Start with the OCPP code: it locates the problem (vehicle, electrical network, charger).
  • Then look up the manufacturer code on the brand's page. The text of the information field often completes it.
  • Some brands permanently send a neutral value (for example 0.0 or 0x00): it means "no fault".
  • Some chargers send no manufacturer code and describe the error as text in the information field (Mennekes, GARO). Others signal their faults only through their lights.

Codes by manufacturer

Code not found?

If a code is not listed in these pages, contact Chargekeeper support with the brand, the charger model and the full text of the Information column. The manufacturer's installation or maintenance manual remains the reference for any work on the charger.
